Cody Deaner wins the BCW Championship

On Oct 17th 2015, Cody Deaner defeated Bobby Roode and Kongo Kong (with Scott D'Amore) to win the Border City Wrestling Heavyweight Title.

Cody had the following to say about the win on Instagram:

"Last night I wrestled Kongo Kong and Bobby Roode in the main event of BCW Excellence in Windsor, ON. And I won. I won the BCW Heavyweight Championship.

Some people say titles don't mean anything anymore in wrestling. And sometimes that may be the case.

But last night I main-evented on a show with some of the top professional wrestlers from around the world. And someone had the faith in me to end that show with the title around my waist.

The list of guys who've carried the BCW title is a very long and illustrious list. It's a belt with 27 years of history.

So ya, some say belts mean nothing. In this case, they're wrong. Last night, myself, Kongo Kong, Bobby Roode, & Scott D'Amore made it mean everything. Thanks guys.

Pro wrestling is alive and well in Canada. There was a sold out crowd in Windsor on Oct 17th for BCW Excellence.
