 After a successful Global Force Wrestling debut in Poughkeepsie, NY, Cody Deaner is set to make his return to Global Force Wrestling this June and July. Cody will be in McKeesport, PA on June 3rd and Scranton, PA on June 4th. Cody will also be in Marion, Illinois on July 1st. For the cards, ticket information, and all info on GFW and upcoming events, visit globalforcewrestling.com  On Saturday, May 28th, in front of a sold out crowd in Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada, Cody Deaner (the interim BCW champion) defeated Jon Bolen (the BCW Champion) to become the Undisputed Border City Wrestling Heavyweight Champion.
After interference by Scott D'Amore, Kongo Kong, Eric Young, and a surprise appearance by Tyson Dux, Cody Deaner was able to hit his DDT finishing move on Jon Bolen for the victory. Cody took to his Facebook page, Instagram and Twitter to discuss why this match was so special to him. He said ... "This past Saturday at BCW was a special night for 3 reasons: 1) 13 years ago I stepped into a BCW ring for the first time. In my young career at the time, I remember being so nervous to share the ring with the best roster Canada had to offer. Just being on the show felt like an accomplishment. Fast forward 13 years ... and I represent the company as their Heavyweight Champion. Some say belts don't mean anything. THIS one does. 2) The match was very very satisfying professionally. We were able to create magic on Saturday. Ever pro wrestler chases the feeling and atmosphere that was in the room on Saturday. And it was an atmosphere that we created. So many people contributed to the magic on Saturday. You know who you are. We'll all continue to chase the dragon ... that feeling in the room Saturday night. Fans ... if you were not there Saturday you missed something special. You missed something that those in the room wouldn't even be able to describe. You simply had to be there. It was so rewarding. 3) Standing in the ring with men who have molded me as a professional, and who I consider as my legitimate brothers was a special moment for me. Without exaggeration, @tysondux & @theericyoungig are 2 of the best wrestlers in the WORLD. To share the ring with them and for them to help make the match so special for the fans is humbling, rewarding, and simply makes me smile big. Thanks guys. It was a special night. And one that epitomizes why I LOVE professional wrestling." |
