On November 21st, 2018, Cody Deaner visited two different elementary school in the London Catholic District School Board - Monsignor Morrison in St. Thomas, ON & Assumption in Aylmer, ON. Cody Deaner brought his message of "Dare to Dream BIG" to the schools to teach the kids that even though they might live in a small town... that doesn't mean their dreams have to be small too. Cody wrote the following about his visit to the schools on his Facebook page: "It meant a lot to me yesterday to visit my old stompin’ grounds of Aylmer, Ontario & speak to the kids at Assumption Catholic School Aylmer at London District Catholic School Board. As a kid who grew up in #Aylmer, played basketball in that very gymnasium & has travelled to some pretty amazing places doing what I love... it was important to me to tell the kids that just because they live in a small town, that doesn’t mean they can’t #dreamBIG. A big thanks to all the staff & students at #AssumptionCatholicSchool... you guys rock!" Cody's visit to Assumption held some special significance to him when he was told about the immense impact he had on one young girl who watched his talk.
Cody wrote about this unique story on his Facebook page: "I was told a very satisfying story tonight... Last week I spoke at two awesome elementary schools: Monsignor Morrison School & Assumption Catholic School Aylmer in London District Catholic School Board. A young girl from Assumption went home after I spoke there and excitedly told her mother: “Mom! I met a real life wrestler today!” Mom: “That’s nice, honey.” Young girl: “And he told us that we can be whatever we want to be and be amazing at anything we want... IF we try REALLY HARD.” Mom: “Is that so, honey?” Young girl: “Yes! So, I’m going to keep trying really hard at ringette mom. And I’m going to be amazing at it! And when I grow up... I’m going to be a ringette player!” Wow. As a motivational speaker, I don’t often get to follow-up with the kids I speak to. In this case, I was speaking to kids in the town I grew up in. So, I had many special connections to the community and the kids. I’m extremely grateful this story made it to me. To say it made my day is an understatement." Cody Deaner headlined in the main event for Border City Wrestling's 25th Anniversary show that will premiere on Impact Wrestling's Global Wrestling Network as part of a special One Night Only showcase.
In the main event, for the Border City Wrestling Can-Am Championship, Cody Deaner faces Kongo Kong, Matt Sydal, and Johnny Impact in a Fatal 4-Way match. Cody Deaner announces Yo Mobile as charity of choice for the Giv'er for Charity Campaign in November11/7/2018
Cody Deaner has announced the charity he will be raising money for in the month of Novemeber through the "Giv'er for Charity" campaign. He wrote the following on his Facebook page:
"I’ve decided on the charity of choice for the “Giv’er for Charity” campaign for November... Throughout November, 100% proceeds from my #RedneckRenegade cartoon caricatures will be going to an amazing charity - The Yo Mobile. #YoMobile was founded by Mario Dussault and is run in Timmins, Ontario. Timmins has one of the highest percentages of homelessness in the province. Mario saw a need and decided to do something about it. He bought a bus and sets it up 2 times a week to distribute warm clothes and food to the homeless during the cold winter months. On Nov 17th, Rock Solid Wrestling will be in Timmins for an event where 100% of the proceeds will be going straight to Yo Mobile - which relies 100% on donations to operate. I’m proud to partner with Rock Solid to help this cause. But I won’t ONLY be collecting money at this event. I’ll be collecting money at EVERY event I’m wrestling at or guest speaking at in November. Please partner with me in this cause and help the homeless in the fine city of Timmins. Let’s not just giv’er ... let’s GIV’ER for CHARITY! CodyDeaner.com/charity" Throughtout the month of October, Cody Deaner's "Giv'er for Charity" campaign was raising money to put bullied kids in self-defence classes.
Cody Deaner had the following to say about the October campaign on his Facebook page: "October has come & gone and I’m happy to say that the “Giv’er for Charity” campaign has been able to raise the funds for putting bullied kids in self-defence class to $330! The folks at Fear The Fighter have made it a priority to help #StopBullying & I’m happy to join them in their cause to get kids with low self-esteem and a low sense of self-worth involved in BJJ classes to raise their confidence and help them realize they DO MATTER and bullies to not have to have power over them. I’m PERSONALLY picking the kids to put into self-defence programs & have heard stories from kids & parents across Canada & have reached out to some to help. But I know there are more out there. If you or someone you know would benefit from classes, please drop me a PM & we’ll see if we can help. Thanks to everyone who has supported my “Giv’er for Charity” efforts & the #StopBullying campaign 👊 If you’d like to contribute to the cause & get some#FearTheFighter #StopBullying swag, visit fearthefighter.com/discount/justgiver & enter promo code: justgiver at checkout and $10 from your order will go toward the campaign. *NOTE* ZERO dollars go to me.
