Cody Deaner wins Canadian Heavyweight Championship in Aylmer, Ontario at East Elgin Secondary School

On Thursday, April 26th, in front of a packed, standing room only crowd at East Elgin Secondary School in Aylmer, Ontario, Cody Deaner won the Canadian Heavyweight Championship title in the main event match-up against Tyler Tirva.

The event was co-promoted by East Elgin Secondary School and Rock Solid Wrestling as a charity fundraiser for East Elgin's Relay for Life campaign.

As a former student of East Elgin, the community showed up full of excitement and anticipation for the big title fight.

The event had a pre-show barbeque and had an opportunity for the fans to meet the wrestlers and get autographs.

In the end, as the crowd came to its feet, Cody Deaner hit his finishing move, the DDT, and pinned Tyler Tirva to become the Canafdian Heavyweight Champion.

After the match, Cody took the microphone and dedicated the match and the win to those who he claimed were the "true champions," those who have courageously fought the painful fight against cancer.

Cody wrote the following message to fans and the school on his Facebook page: "A HUGE thank you to all the amazing staff & students at East Elgin Secondary School for a very memorable event last night. 

Thank you Thames Valley District School Board for thinking “outside the box” & bringing Rock Solid Wrestling to Aylmer to help raise $ for East Elgin Relay for Life!
